The challenge
A decade-old platform holding up a cold chain
Refrigerated transport lives or dies on evidence. A load is only sellable if you can show it stayed in range the whole way, and a breach you find out about on arrival is a breach you have already paid for.
GAH’s telematics platform had been running for a decade. It worked, but it told operators where vehicles were rather than what was happening inside them – and by the time a temperature problem surfaced, the window to do anything about it had usually closed.

The platform
Live fleet, to the degree
Every vehicle and every compartment on one map - set against actual temperature, door state, power and last contact — with the thresholds that raise an alert configured per fleet.
Fleets are defined by what they carry. Set, minimum and maximum temperature live with the fleet, and every vehicle in it inherits the rules.
Live position with the thing that actually matters attached — compartment temperatures, running state and power, on the pin.
Over max for an extended period, door left open, no signal — each with how long it ran and whether it was resolved.
01 · Structure
Fleet-level rules
Temperature ranges, alert thresholds and operating settings are defined once per fleet - Fresh Food, Frozen Goods, Dairy - so a policy change is one edit rather than a job per vehicle.
02 · Attention
Exception-based alerting
The platform watches for over-max temperature, doors left open and vehicles that have stopped reporting, and raises each one with duration and resolution attached, so the list is work rather than noise.
03 · Evidence
Continuous compliance record
Alert history, last-contact times and per-compartment readings accumulate as a matter of course - which is what turns a monitoring tool into proof of cold chain compliance.
The results
From where the vehicle is to what's happening inside it
Modernised a decade-old telematics platform with real-time fleet visibility, and delivered live compartment temperature tracking down to the degree.
