UI/UX Designer (6 Month Contract)

As we expand our team, we are seeking an experienced UI/UX Designer to join us on a 6-month contract basis for a significant SaaS product centred on digital identity and licensing! This role will focus on web app design, playing a crucial part in building and shaping our new SaaS product.

This is an office-based position in Edinburgh or Dundee, with hybrid work flexibility. Ideally, candidates will be available to work 4-5 days per week in the Edinburgh office, but we do offer flexibility.

 

What You Will Be Doing:

  • Conduct user research to inform design decisions and ensure user-centric solutions.
  • Create and refine personas based on user data and client interactions.
  • Develop high-fidelity mock-ups and prototypes to visually communicate design ideas.
  • Drive the design and development of innovative UI/UX solutions aligned with project objectives and milestones.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
  • Develop and maintain wireframes (both low and high-fidelity) and architectural documentation.
  • Oversee the implementation of design solutions, ensuring they meet quality standards and adhere to project timelines.
  • Proactively identify risks and issues in the design process and implement mitigation strategies as needed.

 

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a UI/UX Designer, particularly in mobile and web app design.
  • Proficient in creating high-fidelity mock-ups and prototypes using Figma.
  • Strong understanding of wireframing (both low and high fidelity) and visual design principles.
  • Experience in conducting user research and developing personas.
  • Some experience with Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop is desirable but not essential.
  • Excellent understanding of user experience and usability principles.
  • Creative and tech-savvy with a passion for innovative design solutions.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.

Full Stack Developer

This currently is a full-time permanent role within our Edinburgh or Dundee office, there is also flexibility for a hybrid working model.

 

What You Will Be Doing:

As a Full Stack Developer at Zudu, you’ll be at the forefront of developing and maintaining scalable and efficient applications. Reporting to the Head of Engineering, you’ll collaborate with architects, designers, project managers, and fellow developers to deliver solutions that exceed expectations and push digital boundaries.

 

Requirements:

As we expand our team, we are seeking a highly experienced Principal Engineer, on a permanent basis to lead our development team for this product and play a crucial role in building and shaping the product and team within the business, based in our Edinburgh or Dundee office on a hybrid basis.

This is an extraordinary opportunity to be involved in a cutting-edge tech product, with the added potential to become a partner/founder in a new SaaS business.

 

What You Will Be Doing:

  • Lead the development team and help build the role of Principal Engineer within the project team.
  • Ensure seamless collaboration with other project team members to achieve project objectives.

    Which tools and technologies do you work with?

    While each role will have slightly different requirements (and we’ll always make sure these are outlined in the job posting), our whole team will use Slack, Notion, Basecamp, and Outlook on a daily basis, alongside job-specific tools such as Jira, HubSpot, Freshdesk, Canva, Figma, and more. As we develop software across Android, iOS, Windows, and Mac there are many tools and technologies to choose from.

    What are the usual working hours at Zudu?

    Our offices are open from 9am to 5:30pm, Monday to Friday, and these are the standard hours for all full-time roles (both remote and office-based). Please contact our team for more information about flexible hours.
