The challenge
Beyond the booth
Vortex sells complex, largely invisible technology: liners cured inside pipes, robots working in sewers, resins and coatings whose value is only obvious once you understand the problem they solve. At trade shows the group had seconds to stop a passer-by and minutes to explain a range running to dozens of systems and hundreds of technical documents. Printed literature was heavy, went out of date, and told the sales team nothing about who had picked it up.
By 2024 the same problem had moved online. Three brands had no shared foundation, users were bounced out to a separate technical library to find data sheets, and a group growing by acquisition needed a web estate that could keep up. All of it had to be live for WWETT 2025, where Vortex was marking its tenth anniversary and unveiling a new division.

The platform
Two worlds and one shared foundation
A 3D town where every product family has a place, and three brand websites on a common component library — so a change made once can be applied everywhere, and the next acquisition is an addition rather than a rebuild.
01 · Immersion
A town you can walk through
Hotspots and camera zooms take you from a wide establishing shot into fourteen or so solution areas — robots in the sewer under the main street, UV curing with its light train, felt manufacturing by the water — each opening into description, imagery, video, 360° views and before/after sliders.
02 · Capture
Every brochure is a named lead
Visitors collect data sheets and videos into a basket and email themselves the bundle. The form captures name, company, email and territory, and a country and state selector routes the enquiry to the right regional sales inbox — so a PDF download becomes a lead with an owner.
03 · Reuse
One foundation, three brands
A shared WordPress component library and page-template system, so each brand keeps its own identity while a change made for one can be applied to the others without redesign.
04 · Resilience
Online and off, from one build
The same build runs full-screen on a touchscreen kiosk with no connection at all, and on the web for the sales team afterwards. When Microsoft disabled the anonymous links the literature depended on, it was re-pointed to a new feed inside a week, days before a show.
The results
From event asset to daily sales driver
Two websites and two interactive worlds went live together for WWETT 2025, announced on 17 February and shown alongside the group’s tenth anniversary and its new Water division. United Felts — a brand formed from three acquired manufacturers — got its first website and its own immersive world on the same day.
Vortex World has been in continuous use since February 2022, through three major versions, successive show cycles on both sides of the Atlantic and a change of hosting platform, evolving from a trade show attraction into a daily sales driver.
