I’ve wanted to work in finance for as long as I can remember. I love problem solving and anything to do with numbers. Planning really is my passion. I’m always planning something, whether it’s a holiday, a Guide camp, a craft project, or a social event. At Zudu, planning plays a big part of my role, especially around the end of the month.
Finance is a very cyclical job with peaks and flows every month and at the end of the month we have to make sure that everything is invoiced, all costs for the month are posted, and most importantly, salaries are paid. Making sure this all gets done, as well as day-to-day tasks involves a lot of planning, and payroll starts days in advance to make sure everything is ready to go.

What you wouldn’t guess
I’m a Highland Dancer. I started when I was four, danced right up until I left for uni, took a break and got back into it just before COVID hit. I’ve never competed but I’ve been surrounded by champions my whole life, and I love it. It is an exercise like no other. The grace, strength and concentration it takes make it challenging but so rewarding.

If you could train an AI to do absolutely anything, what would it be?
Keep my spaces tidy. I am chronically messy and I hate it. I am incapable of keeping a space tidy for longer than an hour, so if AI could tidy up after me, but also make sure I knew where everything was that would be amazing.

Why Zudu?
The team! Everyone is super welcoming, and I know that if I need something there will be someone who will be willing and able to help me. Seeing the team grow and flourish is really exciting. The team has doubled in size since I joined, and it’s only the beginning.
