My journey into development wasn’t a straight path – while I always knew I’d end up in some form of engineering, I discovered my passion for coding along the way. Over the past decade, I’ve progressed through developer, senior developer, lead developer, and systems architecture roles, somehow convincing various companies that I know what I’m doing.
Working across diverse sectors and technologies, what drives me every day is the thrill of solving challenging technical problems and witnessing that moment when clients see their vision come to life. There’s something incredibly satisfying about taking a complex requirement, breaking it down into elegant code, and delivering a solution that genuinely makes a difference – even if it takes a few more cups of coffee than originally estimated.

What you wouldn’t guess
I spent five years competitively playing bagpipes, which taught me two crucial skills: how to perform complex technical sequences while everyone stares at you, and how to maintain composure when everything sounds terrible and you can’t figure out why. Surprisingly transferable to debugging production code at 2am.

If you could train an AI to do absolutely anything, what would it be?
I’d train an AI to be the ultimate code reviewer and technical debt detective. Imagine an AI that could instantly spot potential performance bottlenecks, suggest optimal architecture patterns, and even predict which parts of your codebase might cause issues six months down the line. It would be like having a crystal ball for software development – helping teams build more robust, maintainable systems from the start.
