With the rise of AI-powered content tools such as ChatGPT, Notion’s own AI, and long-standing service providers such as Moonbeam and ScaleNut, clients often ask us whether these tools can be used to improve on-page SEO and provide sufficient topic knowledge to assist copywriters in their research – so we put AI knowledge to the test and asked it to describe our company, Zudu!
One of the best tests of whether an online tool is worth investing in is to ask it something about your company that you know the answer to but is perhaps not common knowledge for the average member of the public – and this goes for any tool claiming to give insight into your competitors or boasting about its AI writing capabilities!
For our test, we asked an AI content writing tool to describe Zudu. Here’s what it said:

We were very impressed with the AI’s interpretation of our company as Zudu is indeed a custom software development agency, however, the AI got a couple of things very wrong and we’ve redacted them from the post to avoid confusion; and it additionally didn’t structure the post well or reference any sources.
Starting with the first one, the AI credited the development of two apps to us that we did not build: golfing app, GolfBirdie, and an ambiguous app called Taste which we weren’t able to find in the app stores using the description the AI provided. This suggests that while the AI was able to find us online and scrape our website and social media for content, its external research wasn’t as successful. However, it did know to look for golfing apps as we have indeed previously developed a golfing app called Fore Business.
Secondly, while the generated post had some structure in place such as a title and sub-headings, the sub-headings were not ordered correctly. What should have been a list title with an H2 tag followed by list items (listed with H3 tags) ended up as all H2 headings across the board, making it confusing for readers and difficult for search engine algorithms to pull the correct content from the page. Additionally, and we’ve noticed this with many AI content writers, the content was quite repetitive from section to section and many sentences started or ended in similar ways, or reused the same words throughout the article. While this can be useful for keyword optimisation, the words it chose to repeat were often not the ones we wanted to emphasise in the text.
Lastly – and this is again a problem with AI content writing content tools – the generated content provides no sources for the information which can lead to issues around accuracy, plagiarism, and relevance. In a separate test, we asked the same AI content tool to describe an industrial process and we then took the first few lines of each paragraph and ran them through Google only to discover the content had been lifted word-for-word from a handful of the same sources. While these sources were trustworthy, the content still contained heavy duplication from across the web.
Overall, while AI content generators are impressive, they have a long way to go to create SEO-optimised content that is well-structured and referenced, accurate, and unique. If you’re researching a topic, it’s a great starting point but we’d definitely recommend rewording or fact-checking before pressing publish!
