Vortex Companies

Zudu’s design, web and software development teams collaborated to produce brand new sites for Vortex Companies and United Felts.

Zudu integrated an immersive interactive sales hub to increase awareness of their products, solutions and service lines, as well as maintaining visitor time and engagement on their site.

The site provides a slick, easy to navigate user interface and experience and even greater access at exhibitions/trade shows and in customer presentation and pitches, designed to be accessible both online and offline.

Fugro

As part of engagement in the middle eastern region Fugro were looking to create a showstopping conversation enabler on their ADIPEC exhibition stand.

Zudu’s software development team supported with the creation of an app that scaled to a 9m video wall that users could interact with revealing moving graphics and educational content across their suite of onshore and offshore geophysical and geodata products.

A smaller version has also been created allowing their sales and marketing teams to showcase the tool on a multitude of displays and devices.

Digital Transformation Roadmap for the Energy Sector

Identify Business Challenges

When incorporating new technology into your business, it’s not just about finding the tech that excels at a particular task but also about devising a lasting, scalable solution that aligns with your business requirements and supports your workforce.

Identify Staff's Pain Points

Hands-on teams will be more aware of day-to-day challenges and may have already implemented workarounds. Over time, this can lead to confusion and disconnection between teams. Technology can offer a flexible solution to address these issues.

Seek External Consultancy

Identifying areas for business growth can be challenging, especially if you don’t have the tools to gain practical insight into your competitors. Working with an agency like Zudu can present new ideas for tackling your business challenges effectively.

Determine KPIs

Success carries diverse meanings for different companies including optimising operational efficiency, minimising staff turnover, enhancing the client onboarding process, and improving staff training: all of which can result in significant revenue growth.

Deliver Staff Training

Before incorporating any new processes, it’s important to ensure that your staff has undergone proper onboarding and been provided with plenty of time to give the software a test run, ask questions, or provide suggestions for improvement.

Launch New Processes

In agile development, launch signifies the completion of one development stage, as well as marking the beginning of a new one! While these stages can be spaced far apart, maintaining your new software solution and gathering feedback is crucial.

    Frequently Asked Questions

What are the most important factors to consider when developing energy sector software?

When developing software for businesses in the energy sector, it’s crucial to focus on scalability to accommodate growing demands, real-time data analytics for instant insights, and compliance with industry standards to ensure data security and privacy. By prioritising these factors, your software can efficiently handle complex energy data, empower decision-makers, and adapt to the dynamic energy landscape.

What are the latest trends in software development for the energy sector?

The energy sector is embracing AI-driven applications for predictive maintenance, IoT integration for smart grid management, and cloud-based solutions for flexible and cost-effective scalability. These trends are enabling energy companies to optimise operations, predict energy demand, and leverage real-time data to boost efficiency and sustainability, as well as improve their competitive edge.

How can software improve energy efficiency and sustainability?

Using advanced algorithms and real-time monitoring, software can make it easier for businesses to reduce waste, lower their carbon footprint, and meet their sustainability goals through best practices in coding (such as identifying the most appropriate tech stack) and UX/UI design (an often-overlooked element of sustainability in software, but a crucial one). All of our projects are also hosted on servers powered by renewable energy – making them more efficient, modern, and eco-friendly.

How can I ensure data security and privacy in energy-related software applications?

Maintaining data security and privacy is essential in energy software applications due to the large amounts of user data. We always employ robust encryption techniques, tiered access controls, and regular audits to ensure compliance with data protection regulations and help safeguard sensitive information. Speak to our team to learn more about our approach.

What are the benefits of implementing Internet of Things (IoT) technologies in energy software?

IoT technology can offer numerous benefits as it enables hardware-to-software communication in real-time, as well as monitoring of energy assets, predictive maintenance, and remote asset management (even in remote locations). By leveraging IoT’s seamless connectivity and data exchange, energy software can optimise energy consumption, reduce downtime, and enhance operational efficiency – ultimately contributing to reduced energy costs and improved sustainability. See our whitepaper for examples of IoT in practice in the energy sector (and learn more about how the Digital Twins concept has saved companies millions of Pounds).

What are the potential cost savings from using energy software solutions?

Custom-built software solutions can provide significant cost savings by streamlining operational processes (including the customer journey) and enhancing maintenance practices behind the scenes. Through data-driven insights and automation, energy-intensive industries can improve overall resource efficiency – resulting in substantial long-term cost benefits.
